Polly Hutchinson.

Mary "Polly" Hutchinson was the wife of Sgt. John Wilson before she was murdered on September 27, 1918. Her husband killed her so that he could marry his secret lover. Polly Hutchinson was born in 1886. She was described as a very "sunny" and kind person. She married John Wilson on January 1, 1908. Her husband decided to leave in July 1912 because he had bankrupted his and Polly's brother's greenhouse business He also stole from that same brother. Polly heard from her husband regularly for the first couple years but after that the letters stopped. She decided locate her husband and she found him on April 18, 1918. She eventually found out about her husbands secret lover. When she confronted him about it, he said he was going to break it off. In reality, John was lying to save his own skin. While in Canada, Polly made numerous friends including Eileen Wismer. Eileen played a key role in the arrest and conviction of John Wilson. On September 27, John had Polly come to Saskatoon. He picked her up and toghether they drove towards Blaine Lake. John had his shotgun in the car for shooting geese. He first told Polly that he was heading this direction on business but then said that he was going there to break it off with his secret lover. Eventually, he decided to stop the car to shoot at some Geese which he ended up wounding. Polly asked him if he was ready to leave. At this point, he had made his desicion. He decided to kill Polly. Even though she pleaded for him not to, he aimed the shotgun at her head, and a loud explosion from the barrel ended her life. Polly was pregnant at the time of her death with John Wilson's baby. They also had two children previously, Helen and George. The children ended up being raised by their grandparents. Polly's body was discovered on December 12, 1919 in a culvert near Waldheim. John Wilson had buried her near the place he had killed her. John Wilson was eventually hung for this hideous crime.
